A key to upliftment

Joshua 1:8
Be sure that the book of the Law is always read in your worship. Study it day and night, and make sure that you obey everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

Social upliftment is something we should definitely be involved in. Being in touch with the people in our world is vital to not only meet the needs of others around us, but also to see our 'christianity' lived out in practical ways.

James 1:27
What God the Father considers to be pure and genuine religion is this: to take care of orphans and widows in their suffering and to keep oneself from being corrupted by the world.

But what we must never neglect to see is how vital the Word of God is to people's upliftment. All our 'action' without the Word of God will leave people fed, but with no future. When we give people the Word, it gives them the answer to every need in life. Regardless of our situation, when we believe, we can overcome all. To believe, requires the Word of God being found richly in our hearts.

Col 3:16
Christ's message in all its richness must live in your hearts. Teach and instruct one another with all wisdom.

Admittedly, people often need a helping hand to get started and get them on their feet, but nothing replaces the power of God's word to increase and prosper us in every situation.
It's a known fact that where the Bible is preached and believed in all its fulness the people begin to prosper and increase. Faith comes by hearing the word and by faith, the bible says we overcome. Jesus said, all things are possible to those who believe.

Not only for our own lives, but for those in a less position than ourselves, need the Word of God. God told Joshua, if you would study, think about and talk about the Word, the message of God, all the time, it will make you prosperous and successful in your endeavors.
So, make a decision to not only be actionable in your social upliftment programs, but also to be a sharer of the Word to those that need it. Who needs it? Everyone.

The best way to become a sharer is to fill your own heart with the Word daily. Let it dwell in you richly. Just the overflow will the blessing people need. please go take a look at Deut 28, and see what happens when we believe and obey the word of God in our lives.
